This fabric blends merino with the natural cooling properties of Tencel™, a fiber derived from sustainably grown eucalyptus. We use Corespun technology to wrap those fibers around a nylon filament for additional tensile strength. This hybrid excels in hot and humid weather to keep you feeling cool and dry when the mercury rises.

"The merino blend is light weight and good for summer. I had high expectations for the IBEX shirts and ordered both short-sleeve and long-sleeve Paradox shirts. Temperature control is good in both warm and cool conditions. The shirts are soft, comfortable, and stretch nicely. I have worn them several times before washing and the shirts were very good for odor control. I was hoping for more of an athletic fit, but the shirts seems to have of a standard cut. The XL fit me well in the chest but was baggy and long in my torso for both the short-sleeve and long-sleeve versions. The sleeves on the long-sleeve shirt fell well below my wrists. I exchanged both shirts for L sizes. The fit in the chest seems too tight in the L, particularly for the short-sleeve shirt, so I’m a little self-conscious in the L short-sleeve. The fit in the torso is much better with the L for both shirts and the length of the long sleeve is spot on. The short-sleeve shirt is a great base layer even if I’m hesitant to wear it without an overshirt because of the tight fit in the chest and shoulders. My other concern is that the shirt becomes twisted after washing, particularly the short-sleeve shirt. I have only washed the shirts in cold water, they have not been in the dryer, and I store them folded. The twisting was evident after the first wash. The shirts return close to straight after drying. The twist is slightly noticeable in the short-sleeve shirt even when dry. So, a good product but I was hoping for more of an athletic fit and the cutting of the fabric during manufacturing could have been more precise. As noted, I had high expectations and using the short-sleeve shirt mainly as base layer was not expected."

"XL is a paradox in the case of the Paradox. It’s more like a medium. I really love my two Shak Jackets in XL. The fit is relaxed and works. I wish you made more relaxed fit clothes."

"I bought 2 of these for bike commuting in Portland. They are wearing great and I like the color! They are great under a shell and are able to dry at work on a hanger and are dry and not smelly for my commute back home. I think they will make a great travel piece as well."

"I purchased for a kayaking trip. Was perfect to wear on the water in the sunshine all day and still comfortable to wear around camp in the evening. The quality and fit are outstanding."

"An excellent shirt and product. This combination of merino wool and other materials is smooth to the touch, dries incredibly quickly, and can be worn days in a row without any concern about odor or appearance."
