"Really love this hoodie. Just used it on a majority of days on a 3 week bike tour in NZ. It was a bit warm climbing in the direct sun but otherwise was th right piece of gear 90% of the time. Only complaint is that the sun faded the fabric pretty significantly on all parts of the hoodie that had direct contact to skin. So, arms and shoulders mostly. Imagine I will be re-dying it soon."

"Very comfortable fabric, good fit. Looking forward to many years of a comfortable base layer for variable conditions."

"Great fit, great for warm spring days or the in the fall. Wool fabric gives that little extra warmth. Great sun coverage and very comfortable."

"I wasnt sure about buying this shirt. The reviews were good but the price was so high. Could it really be worth it? So I made the judgement and have worn it on 2 all day hikes in a full funny weekend out on the coast. The shirt worked perfectly keeping me protected and comfortable just like I wanted."

"Favorite sun hoodie I’ve ever owned. Fit is perfect and doesn’t smell after sweating in it."

"What a piece of gear. I work trails during the heat of the Summer in Idaho and finding the balance of sun protection, heat and odor regulation is so difficult. I steered away from sun hoodies for a long time because 99% were made of plastic and backpacking 10 days at a time in the same piece of clothing, I could never justify exposing myself to that. When I figured out Ibex made exactly what I had been looking for, It was one of the easiest purchases to make and Ive never looked back (in fact ordered my backup last week). Durability is surprisingly great considering. I do find that the palms wear thin from wearing them while using trekking poles or keeping them up out of habit, but that's a hard one to overcome. only thought is that there needs to be some more masculine colors in the women's version or going down to an XS in mens to cover the color preferences. My partner bought the Small in shiitake because that's color is more up her ally and it is just way to big. would love to see this become a gender neutral design, but understand that there might be some fit differences between the mens and women's version of the hoody."

"In high school, my mom gifted me a ~150gsm hooded base layer from Ibex. I wore that base layer running, hiking, skiing -- pretty much anytime I was in the mountains or moving in colder temps. It was my absolute favorite. As will happen with wool, a few years post college (10+ years later) the shirt had seen it's final wear. I've been looking for that hoodie for close to 10 years. I've had other merino wool hooded base layers, but they were either too tight, too thick, too thin. When I saw the Springbok Sun Hoodie on ibex, I was filled with hope. Three months into owning this piece, my search is over. For ski tours, days on the resort, jogs before or after skiing, long runs, and lounging in the long johns (my preferred state of being), this hoodie is the best. It's light enough to be a sun hoodie, it's warm enough to be a base layer or only layer during aerobic activities. This will certainly be my most worn piece of clothing over the next decade. THANK YOU."

"This was my go to shirt on a two month hike, bike and trail running road trip last summer. The weight was perfect for the sun during the day while still warm in the evening. Much more comfortable than synthetics along with all the other benefits of merino wool. I'm 5'10" 190. Both the large and xl fit."
