Part mid layer, part outer layer, our Ponti is 100% merino wool, double-knit for incredible insulation. The interlocking structure monopolizes on merino’s natural elasticity, allowing it to move with you while skinning up the north side of the mountain or reaching for that final arête. Merino Ponti is our fabric of choice for the Shak collection, named for the iconic Antarctic explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton. It’s ready for any and every expedition you find yourself on.

Wooly Bully

"Just came back from a week in late fall Berlin with this. More and more, I prefer merino wool to even the best artificial fabric blends. This is a really nice manifestation of merino. It is not bulky and hangs nicely. Like the two internal pouches, besides the three pockets, which can be utilized to stash a magazine or hat in. I was drawn to the yellow for a splash of color instead of my more usual black or gray tones. The only complaint is that the collar is just a bit too high without having the structure to keep it from flopping a bit. Fine when it is zipped up but when open it can’t seem to decide if it wants to flop or stand tall. This is a purely aesthetic issue, not functional. The sleeve diameter is the right size to not look too large but still able to slide up your arm and stay there when it is a bit too warm. And they make a matching color hat! As with all Ibex, it is pricey, but I thgiunk worth it."
