Fabulous Shirt

"I hate to be hot when I’m hiking - especially in hot weather, but a backpacking trip in the Eastern Sierras required one versatile shirt. I also hate hoods. This, however, was one awesome shirt. I never overheated, even in 80 degree weather and I loved the hood for cool mornings and windy evenings. And then it rained…even though the shirt got wet, true to wool, it was still warm and dried out pretty quickly while hiking. I’m getting these shirts for my sun-averse husband and other backpacking family members. So much more comfortable than synthetic versions."

Perfectt for most days

"I really like this lightweight hoodie. I can weae it in almist any westher. I got a large because i dont like tight clothes (i wear a size 10) and it hangs beautufully. I think it will be perfecr on a plane flight."

Love, love, love the Ibex Springbok

"I’ve been on a quest for the perfect hoodie for camping and canoeing, and this is by far my favourite. The fabric is buttery soft, so soft I really look forward to putting it on. It performs well as a layer to keep you warm, but also as a protective layer when out in the sun. The design is spot on, from the finger holes to the shape of the hood, great full coverage while I’m canoeing in the backcountry. I purchased the XL as I don’t like form fitting gear, it’s not oversized, and the cut is very flattering. The quality is absolutely there too. It’s not an ultralight hoodie but definitely top in class for a medium to lightweight layer. Loved it so much I bought a second."

This is some crazy magic.

"Once upon a time, I used to make fun of hikers who wore sun hoodies. “That’s preposterous!” I said. My ridicule only increased when I heard some were made of wool. Seriously??!! How on earth could a wool long sleeve hoodie not make the sun 200 times worse?! I bought one of these this summer specifically for the purpose of proving that these were a sham. I was salivating at my chance to write a scathing, negative review. Alas, I am here to eat my words by the truckload. My husband and I did the Tour du Mont Blanc (100 mile hike), and this hoodie did some weird voodoo magic because it kept me cool and shaded from the sun like nothing else. I can’t explain it. I don’t understand the mechanics, but it absolutely & completely worked. I am now a believer and would like to be buried in this hoodie. My apologies to those I made fun of. Ibex, you will have my business forever."

"This hoodie is perfect for sun protection and can also serve as another layer in cooler weather. I haven't liked hoods in the past with my longer hair, but the hoodie on this top is great."

A hoodie that does it all

"I want to get this hoodie in all colors. It is a beautiful weight. It looks nice enough to wear to work but also I play hard in it. The hoodie seems to be very durable. It is my go to for mountain biking and hiking layers. I also wore this layer everyday on a vacation to the Caribbean as a sun layer. I swam with it. It provided great sun protection and was light enough to be comfortable."

Keeps cool and sun-free

"Im very impressed with this and would love to see more colors. I am prone to overheating, and I wore this all afternoon, mushroom foraging in the sun, on a warm day. Not only did I keep relatively cool, but I also was completely protected from the sun. Honestly, I was amazed at its functionality. Appreciate the longer sleeves and body length, too. 5'9", 145lbs, medium. Just right."
