Perfect Heavy Midlayer

"First, a plea for more colors (green, blue, golden!!) and that you keep this style around. Please! Admittedly, I was a bit nervous about the price and am not always on top of prompt returns so I waited until this went on sale. I've worn it every day since it arrived and wish there was another color available in my size. Would buy it, on sale or not. I am nervous about opening the thumb holes because I got black and it's hard to see the stitching that should be removed. Thanks to everyone who contributed sizing information in their reviews. Here's mine: I'm typically 5'6" and approximately 150 lbs with an athletic build, a 34DD chest and a backside. My jeans typically range from 4-8 or 27-29 and a M sized top is usually a safe bet. I'm currently 8 months pregnant and 172lbs. I ordered a Medium hoping that it would fit me now. It stretches over my very large bump (barely) when zipped and fits perfectly over a light-medium weight layer everywhere else. It'll be perfect postpartum for a variety of layers. The double zipper is exactly what you need to be active in this jacket without worrying about your clothes. The hood has room for a lighter weight hat or headband underneath and the scuba shape zips up nicely to give you some neck coverage without constriction. There's still room for a lightweight cowl or gaiter for your layering game. The fabric is light enough to go under a vest, another jacket, or both, depending on your needs. I live in Duluth, MN and like to be outside year round so my layering needs can vary a lot. This piece is perfect for that so one more plea for more colors and to keep it around. Thank you!"

"I have wanted this jacket for a long time . The price now is well worth it . Love the fit. I am petite, 100lbs. 5'2" and the XS works fine on me . It is long-ish , perfect to and from the gym , dog walks and general errands ,without extra bulk . The color is a very nice deep purple . The weight is sweater-like , but doesn't feel heavy on at all . So happy I treated myself to this coat for my birthday. It does feel comfortably snug in the XS , so if you have a tummy you may want to size up. Will be great in the fall and a milder winter in Colorado."

High performance but also looks put together

"I come to the reviews for the fit deets so I’m giving them to you first. I’m almost 5’8”, 140ish lbs, 34B with a 29” waist and 39” hips, I am happy with the size small as I like the trim fit. The sleeves are nicely proportioned and the thumb holes are sewn shut, which is a plus for me but would take only a few seconds to open for someone who wanted to use them.   The merino is a dense wool knit that feels substantial but still moves with you. It has that structured, almost “tailored” look while still functioning like a performance layer. It’s warm without being bulky, and it’s my travel bestie. It’s super versatile. I wear as a midlayer under my rain trench, wear it as a cover up for chilly pool runs on ski trips, obviously I wear it on the sidelines watching my favorite player.  😅 I like this jacket so much that I own a dusty amethyst to rep my son’s school colors and black for everything else. The clean lines give it a polished feel, and the zip pockets are actually functional without adding bulk. Overall, this is one of those pieces that bridges the gap between technical and refined."

5'9" 145 : Medium is perfect

"Believe the reviews. This jacket is like surrounding yourself in your favorite blanket. The feel is unbeatable: great quality, has some weight to it, 100% merino. And yes. . . it looks great on! I got two of these and hope Ibex will continue to make them in other colors. I would say this fits on the slimmer side, hugging very slightly but not at all too tight. Quite flattering! Great with tights and boots. I am long in the torso and I love that it covers my a$$. Can't say a bad thing about it."

Expensive but worth it

"This jacket is beautiful! Quality is A+. I'm on the tall, slender to medium build side, and the Large fits nicely. Trim look, but with room to layer underneath. The blackberry color is warm-toned enough to work happily with my autumn-y wardrobe. Dress up or down easily."

"This is the most comfortable mid layer that I own. I use it mostly to lounge around the house but it's nice enough that I can grab groceries wearing it. Honestly, no matter the event it would be the nicest piece of clothing in the room. I like to pair this with my Lizzie's."

Nice and cozy

"Beautiful color, cozy jacket, good zipper. This has already been lovely to wear. I wasn't thrilled about having to undo the seam for the thumb holes myself but at the sleeve length it made sense to have them. Hood is nice. I went a size larger than I normally would based on other reviews and am glad I did."
