I bought this shirt for a 5 day spring river rafting trip and wore it everyday. it kept me warm and dry and didn't smell even though we experienced very hot and very cold weather. The material is very soft and comfortable.

I live in Wisconsin and the winters are brutal. I am a deputy sheriff and work outside, and spend hours outside while off-duty, training dogs (for herding trials) and just having fun. I can wear this top to work under my ballistic vest, and it keeps me warm without the unpleasant odor that cops are familiar with when it comes to ballistic vests. I can also layer this top when I am working my dogs outside. When I work up a sweat, I don't get that 'chill' that stays with me when I would wear synthetic products. I can also wear this around the house and stay nice and toasty. I love this shirt. It's an essential piece for everyone. This top looks good, feels great and is totally functional.

I used for a full day of snowboarding on Sat. and 4 hours of cross-country skiing on Sun. Aired out the top on Sat. night. When I wore it on Sunday after a few hours of intense x-country I started to notice a strange smell and couldn't figure out what it was. It smelled like a stinky wet wooly dog. Then I realized it was me. The wool Zepher shirt started to smell like the sheep it came off of when it got wet with sweat. The smell did go away the next day when it was aired out. I haven't washed it yet. Otherwise the functionality was good. I would recommend it for a lightweight layer if you don't mind being smelly.

The zephyr is a stylish and versatile basic that is comfortable and capable in a wide range of temperatures. Its substantial feel masks a subtle but substantial temperature control that is very breathable and works well not only by itself, but also as an medium weight underlayer in colder weather. Miraculously stink-free after sweating, and day after day use it is a great travel piece that is stylish enough to wear by itself, but can also provide serious warmth without being stifling as things warm up. During long car travel, I will have sweated out my usual cotton shirts, and be feeling like I need a shower. Not with the zephyr. I arrive dry and feeling still clean as when I began!

The orange/(more rust, I think) and ale is a very attractive combo, for the right complexion, I must say. The neckline is nice and close, and stays put, unlike so many other styles of neckline. It feels sturdy, though I have only had it a short while. I am contemplating another, for color choice.
